The stud bolts are typically fully threaded and paired with two heavy hex nuts, conforming to ASTM A194 Grade 2H. They are produced in a range of diameters from 1/4 inch to 4 inches (or M6 to M100 for metric equivalents) and are available in custom lengths according to project requirements. Threads are generally unified coarse (UNC), fine (UNF), or 8UN series, manufactured to Class 2A tolerances as specified in ASME B1.1.

Mechanical properties of Grade B7 stud bolts include a minimum tensile strength of 125 ksi (860 MPa), yield strength of 105 ksi (725 MPa), and a hardness range of 223–235 HBW (up to 35 HRC). These properties ensure high load-carrying capacity and excellent resistance to stress and deformation. The bolts also exhibit a minimum elongation of 15% and reduction of area of 35%, providing a good balance between strength and ductility.

Surface finishes can be plain (bare metal), black oxide, zinc-plated, or hot-dip galvanized, depending on environmental exposure and corrosion resistance requirements. All B7 stud bolts are marked for traceability with the manufacturer’s identification and the “B7” grade stamped on one end. Material Test Reports (MTRs) are typically provided in accordance with EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 standards, and compliance with NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 is available when needed for sour service applications.
