What is spring nuts?
A spring nut is a type of nut capable of elastic deformation, consisting of a nut body and a spring. Its structure is more complex than that of a regular nut. The nut body has a groove for installing the spring, which is fitted around the nut. The threaded part of the spring nut is the same as a regular nut, but it also includes an elastic spring washer that provides elastic pressure when the nut is tightened. This helps prevent the fastener from loosening due to machine vibrations.
What is the difference between spring nuts and regular nuts？
- Structural Differences
Spring nuts are more complex in structure compared to regular nuts. A spring groove is set into the nut body, with a spring fitted around it to provide an elastic cushioning effect. In contrast, regular nuts have a simpler structure, usually in the form of a hexagonal or six-sided shape.
- Performance Differences
Spring nuts offer an elastic cushioning effect, which helps prevent loosening of the threads caused by vibration and impact loads. Regular nuts, however, do not provide such cushioning.
